Job summary

nVent is hiring a Welder in Fulton, MO to join a team focused on delivering world-class electrical solutions. You will consult blueprints, set up welding machines, and weld materials including steel, aluminum, and copper to specification.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of welding experience or training.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in Production Welding or a Welding Certificate is required.
  • Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in operating welding equipment.
  • Training in applicable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and convey simple or moderately complex instructions.
  • Ability to write notes or simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Consult blueprints and coordinate with the Lead person to identify job requirements.
  • Gather necessary materials and perform layout per specifications.
  • Set up welding machines and adjust settings to ensure flawless operations.
  • Operate welding guns to weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials.
  • Visually examine welds for adherence to quality standards; re-weld defective joints and remove surplus slag, flux, and spatter using a brush, pad, buffer, and/or grinder.
  • Operate cutting torch and manual plasma cutter as needed.
  • Apply weld stencil and inform the Lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection.
  • Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep the work area clear of scrap and debris.
