Job summary

nVent is seeking skilled Welders for the Hitchcock, Texas site for 1st Shift (7am-5:30pm), Monday through Thursday. Join a growing team and contribute to building safer, innovative electrical solutions in a dynamic global company.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of welding experience, valid AWS D1.1 and CWB qualifications, and be certified in GMAW and FCAW. Read blueprints, maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and collaborate effectively with teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

The Hitchcock, Texas site is expanding its team and is currently seeking Welders for the 1st Shift (7am-530pm) from Monday to Thursday. This is an exciting opportunity to join nVent during a period of growth and innovation.

What you will experience in this position:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding operations using flux core and arc welding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
  • Structural steel flux core with the standards of AWS D1.1 and CWB qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in the area.
  • Certified welder in both GMAW and FCAW
  • Cutting accurately with torches and plasma cuter
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Willingness to work in different environments, including outdoor and confined spaces.
