Job summary

nVent is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Eleanor, WV manufacturing facility. You will maintain, fix, repair, and improve production equipment and facility systems to keep operations safe, efficient, and reliable.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or related education preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Solve and repair machinery, electrical apparatus, hydraulic units, and compressed air equipment.
  • Maintain machinery and production equipment.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance emergencies to minimize production interruptions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Safety, and other teams to improve equipment reliability.

You will also support safe, efficient, and reliable operations by maintaining facility systems. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring production equipment performs at optimal levels.**WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION**:* Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.* Solve and repair machinery, electrical apparatus, hydraulic units, and compressed air equipment.* Maintain machinery, production equipment* Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance emergencies to minimize production interruptions.* Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.* Review and analyze engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals, and related user documentation.* Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.* Perform routine facility maintenance, including repairs to HVAC systems, air compressors, lighting, fans, and building infrastructure.* Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Safety, and other multi-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.* Move, position, and install manufacturing equipment as needed.* Follow established maintenance procedures and safety practices while identifying root causes and corrective actions.**YOU HAVE**:* High school diploma or equivalent experience or GED required; technical training, trade school certification, or related education preferred.* Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience.* Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment in a production environment.* Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.* Shown fixing, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings* Experience using hand tools, power tools, machine tools, and precision measuring equipment.* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate documentation practices.* Ability to work independently and run multiple priorities in fast-paced manufacturing environment.* Fabrication, welding, and machining experience preferred.* Ability to work overtime, including short-notice overtime, as business needs require.* Team members must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently use hands and tools, bend, kneel, reach, balance, and occasionally climb as needed to perform maintenance activities.* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 30 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. continuously.* Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, varying temperatures, and conditions that may not be climate-controlled.* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely perform crucial job functions.* Computer skills and experience**WE HAVE:*** A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day + nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
