JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $18.25 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (5:00 PM - 3:30 AM)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and experienced production welder to join our team. This role involves MIG welding on various structural steel components, including but not limited to rigid frame columns, rafters, pipes, beam canopy rafters, small parts, clips, and special assemblies. The candidate should have thorough knowledge of welding techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off from day one, and mentorship to support growth and development. Overtime is expected in this full-time, direct-hire role.

• Understand and follow all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing setting.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on bead observation.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Adjust welding parameters and manipulate the gun as needed.
• Perform repairs for pinholes and burn-through issues caused by auto welders.
• Train and instruct others on proper welding procedures following manufacturing protocols.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely.
• Maintain the shape, size, and penetration of weld beads while ensuring quality.
• Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences accurate.
• Engage in continuous improvement practices within the work area.
• Regularly communicate and listen effectively as part of job duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certifications per company procedures.
• Experience with forklift and overhead crane operation is a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools.
• Willingness to train and operate forklift and crane equipment.
• Effective at meeting deadlines and working collaboratively in a team.
• Basic mathematical skills and proficiency with measuring instruments.
