JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $18.25 per hour

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and experienced production welder to join our team! This position involves performing MIG welding on various structural steel components, including but not limited to rigid frame columns, rafters, pipes, beam canopy rafters, small parts, clips, and special assemblies. Welded parts may include thin gauge, painted, or galvanized materials. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of welding techniques and a high attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.

• Understand and follow all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on bead quality
• Read tape measures and blueprints accurately
• Adjust welding parameters as needed for quality and efficiency
• Perform repairs for pinholes and burn-through issues
• Train others in proper welding procedures
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely
• Maintain bead shape, size, and penetration for quality
• Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences correct
• Engage in continuous improvement practices in the work area
• Regularly communicate verbally and listen attentively

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one year of welding experience in a production setting or valid welding certification
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Willingness to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certifications per company procedures
• Experience with forklift and overhead crane operation is a plus
• Familiarity with power tools
• Willingness to train and operate forklift and crane equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with a team
• Basic mathematical skills and proficiency with measuring instruments
