Job summary

Tradebe Environmental Services in East Chicago, IN is seeking a Welder for 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM). Pay up to $46/hour with weekly pay, a $1,500 retention bonus and $600 annual tool reimbursement.

You will weld, fabricate, and repair plant equipment, install piping, read blueprints, and contribute to safety and maintenance efforts. Requires 3–5 years in welding/pipefitting and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3–5 years in pipefitting, welding, fabrication and mechanical repair.
• Must have a basic set of tools and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience welding carbon and stainless steel; ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair plant equipment as needed.
• Install and maintain piping systems.
• Perform MIG, TIG and stick welding to repair plant equipment.
• Weld carbon and stainless steel safely.
• Assist with daily equipment inspections.
• Assist with installation of finished products and/or equipment after welding.
• Support other maintenance tasks as needed.
• Welding 70% field/plant and 30% shop fabrication.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

As a Welder with Tradebe you will perform welding throughout an industrial plant's general infrastructure and machinery. We are ideally looking for someone who has welding and pipefitting experience in an industrial setting.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace
• Weld, fabricate, and repair plant equipment as needed
• Install and maintain piping systems
• Perform diverse types of welding to repair plant equipment including MIG, TIG and stick
• Weld carbon and stainless steel effectively and safely
• Help with daily equipment inspections
• Upon successful completion of welding various equipment – assist with installation of finished product(s) and/or equipment
• Support other maintenance tasks as needed
• Conduct up to 70% of all industrial welding in the field/plant and 30% shop fabrication
• Take on additional duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and mechanical equipment repair
• Must have a basic set of tools
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Working knowledge of interpreting and understanding industrial equipment blueprints
• High proficiency in vertical, horizontal and pipe welding
