Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Denton, Texas is seeking a skilled welder to join our fabrication and manufacturing teams. You will produce pieces to order, read weld symbols, and verify measurements to meet specifications while upholding safety standards.

Requirements include at least two years of layout and welding experience and a high school diploma or GED. CMC offers a strong benefits package and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Two plus years of layout and welding experience.
• Ability to read and understand weld symbols, pre-qualified weld designations, and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Use of judgment to sequence welds for efficiency and minimize distortion.

Responsibilities

• Achieve the goal of zero accidents by using all protective equipment and suggest safety improvements.
• Produce fabricated pieces in line with customer orders and ensure parts fit within specifications via testing/quality checks.
• Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specs.
• Maintain tools and machines in safe working order and report issues promptly.

What You'll Do

• Maintain all tools, machines, and supplies in good, safe working order Report any issues or discrepancies immediately

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with production goals


• Ability to read and understand weld symbols, pre-qualified weld designations, and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)


• Use of judgment to sequence welds in order to maximize efficiency and minimize weld distortion
