Job description

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder to join our team. The Welder will use hand-welding equipment to weld or join metal components or fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products, including but not limited to pressure vessels, pipes, frames, and brackets. Our Welders work in a team environment. During the summer the work hours are Monday – Thursday, 6:00am‑3:30pm and Fridays 6:00am‑10:00am with overtime required at times and occasional Saturday. After Labor Day, production hours return to Monday – Friday, 7:00am‑3:30pm.

Education and Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 3-5 years welding experience, MIT/TIG aluminum required, or post-secondary certificate in welding
  • Certification to AWS weld qualification (D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, etc.) highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of arithmetic and fractions is a must
  • Ability to utilize measuring instruments such as tape measures, squares, protractors (digital & bubble) to effectively set up and process weldments to engineering drawing dimensional requirements, along with properly documenting dimensional measurements to ensure conformance
  • General knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (Beta will provide or reimburse)
  • Physical Requirements – using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independently
  • Exposure to loud noise, heat, cold, and moving mechanical parts in a manufacturing environment
