Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Knoxville, TN seeks a Welder to accurately weld hydraulic cylinders and attachments per drawings. You’ll work with MIG, TIG, and robotic welding, joining components to specs and interpreting mechanical drawings. Maintain QC checks and follow Five S and safety standards in a fast-paced production area.

You’ll need at least 1 year MIG welding experience, ability to read weld symbols, and the discipline to work autonomously or with a team on 2nd shift and weekend schedules.

Responsibilities

• Weld hydraulic cylinders and attachments per drawings using MIG/TIG/Robotic welding.
• Join base plates, cross tubes and rod ends to cylinders per specs.
• Weld components to cylinders as per drawings and weld symbols.
• Interpret drawings, select weld settings, and operate equipment.

Job description

As a Welder, I’m excited to apply my hands-on welding skills to build hydraulic cylinders and attachments with precision and pride. In this role, I’ll work in a fast-paced production environment where quality, safety, and attention to detail matter every day.

Job Title: Welder

Location: Knoxville, TN

Pay Range: $23 + Shift Premium

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday, 4PM-230AM

Weekend Shift - Friday-Sunday, 5:30AM-6PM - Work 36 hours get paid for 40 hours

What's the Job?

• Accurately weld hydraulic cylinders and all attachments described in drawings using MIG/TIG/Robotic welding techniques.

• Join base plates, cross tubes, port blocks, and rod ends to cylinder tubes and rods, following specifications.

• Weld attachments and component parts to cylinders as specified by mechanical drawings and weld symbols.

• Interpret mechanical drawings and instructions, respond to management direction, and select proper weld settings on equipment.

• Use standard manual quality control tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), perform preventive maintenance as necessary, maintain equipment daily, and follow safety/security procedures while keeping the work area clean.

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of MIG welding experience and/or training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and weld symbols.

• Experience selecting proper weld settings and using standard manual quality control equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

• Commitment to safety practices, reporting unsafe conditions, and adhering to Five S standards and procedures.

• Strong organizational skills and clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
