Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a Welding Technologist/Technician to ensure weld quality and support production. You will input and optimize welding parameters, inspect welds, and assist robotic welds while maintaining PPAP documentation and reacting quickly to issues.

The role requires a two-plus year welding technology education, basic GD&T, and robotics experience. Strong team collaboration and flexibility for shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Two+ year Welding Technologist/Technician training.
• Understanding of Welding Metallurgy and NDE basics.
• GMAW welding experience with robotics encouraged.
• Able to read drawings and GD&T basics.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork required.
• Willing to work shifts/overtime with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain welding parameters to support production/QA.
• Conduct weld inspections and analyze weld data; generate reports.
• Assist with robotic weld touchups and PPAP packages as needed.
• Maintain Paxit system archival records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs and company quality policies.

Welding Technologist/Technician Course

ISO/TS 16949 knowledge

Basic GD&T understanding

CMM understanding

Measuring equipment knowledge (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges)

Basic computer skills

Robotic welding experience
