Job summary

Alfa Laval in the United States is seeking an assembler-welder to support gasket plate heat exchanger assembly. You will use diagrams and weld maps to assemble components, perform quality checks, document processes, and keep a clean, safe workspace.

The role involves repetitive tasks and collaboration with teammates to drive overall site success. We value individuals who can learn quickly, follow instructions, and adapt to changing workflow.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding assembly and reading weld maps, blueprints or diagrams.
• Ability to perform quality checks and document processes.
• Comfort with repetitive tasks and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proper PPE and safety procedures.
• Receive daily work assignments from Team Lead/Manger.
• Read weld maps and weld drawings to guide assembly.
• Perform quality welds and inspect finished work.
• Safely operate a crane and forklift as needed.
• Participate in daily team discussions and adapt to changes.

About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the assembly of our gasket plate heat exchanger you will assemble products or components using tools and instructions (diagrams, blueprints). Key duties include performing quality checks, documenting processes, maintaining a clean workspace, and collaborating with teams, often involving repetitive tasks. This is important part of contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. While we typically welcome applicants from all locations, currently, we are prioritizing candidates who reside in the US or have an established presence in the area.

• Demonstrate proper use and wearing of PPE (Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes and other specific equipment)
• Receive and process daily work assignment from the Team Lead and Manger.
• Be able to learn and receive instructions from the Team Lead.
• Be able to pass all three-welding tests (6G Tig pipe test, 1G Tig titanium plate test and 2G flux core weld test)
• Be able to read a weld map/weld drawing
• Be able to perform routine tasks without supervision.
• Safely operate a crane, fork truck and joey.
• Be able to perform quality welds.
• Interact with team members, TL and TM.
• Participate in daily team discussions.
• Able to adapt to changing situations.
• Willing to work some weekends when required.
• Get to work on Time.
• Conduct themselves in a professional, courteous manner.

The current hourly rate for this position starts at 25.00 hourly with a $4.000 stipend.
