Job summary

  • Assess production area; perform tests according to ASME, ITP, regulations.

  • Verify equipment calibration and QA compliance; review documentation.
  • Prepare Non-Conformity Reports and assist with audits.

About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality. As a Quality Technician, you will oversee and monitor the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established company quality standards, ASME code, and customer requirements. Your contributions will be vital to the success and growth of our organization.

This position is in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

As a part of the team, you will:
  • Follow all safety policies - leads by example, and confronts unsafe behavior proactively
  • Assess the production area for quality and product integrity by performing evaluations and tests according to ASME, customer ITP, regulatory, and company standards
  • Identify any products that do not meet required specifications.
  • Analyze test results to determine reasons for failure and determine root cause.
  • Check that all equipment used for Quality Assurance meets specifications.
  • Verify that all equipment is properly calibrated.
  • Help and instruct Leads in production, following established procedures set by the company and regulatory agencies/authorities
  • Monitor and audit manufacturing activities for conformance to company standards and regulatory policies
  • Places inventory on hold if it is suspected to be non-conforming and notifies Quality Manager
  • Reviews record documentation for completeness, securing corrections or justifications when deficiencies are found
  • Working knowledge in PT, Hardness readings, MT, Visual Inspection
  • Understanding of WPS, PQR, WPQ and AWS – D1.1
  • Working knowledge of ASME (U1a form), National Board (NBIC).
  • Inspect welding activities
  • Review test reports, post weld heat treat charts, and defect records
  • Assist with internal and external audits for ASME compliance
  • Perform receiving inspection for product identification, material requirements and MTR’s
  • Document test results
  • Prepare Non-Conformity Reports when a problem is detected in the production process
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of internal instrumentation such as chart recorders and hydro gauges
  • Assists with other tasks as needed.
What you know:
  • You have a High school diploma or GED required; college or technical school degree preferred, and:
  • 3+ years’ experience in heat exchanger manufacturing quality control environment or a combination of education and experience required.

Physical Requirements:
  • (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment and/or motor vehicle use): Job requires walking 60% of workday
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds occasionally
Environmental Factors:
  • (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure): Shop Floor: Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Shop Floor: Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Shop Floor: The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
  • Shop Floor: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs)
