Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking an experienced Weld Supervisor to lead multiple welding teams and Weld Leads, ensuring production, quality, and safety objectives are met on the shop floor.

The role reports to the Welding Manager and requires strong MIG welding knowledge, blueprint interpretation, and a proven leadership track record in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. West Milwaukee area facility experience is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of leadership experience supervising welders or shop floor personnel.
• Strong knowledge of MIG welding processes, fabrication methods, weld quality standards, and blueprint interpretation.
• CWI certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Weld Leads and welding/fabrication teams.
• Coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and priorities to maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate with Welding Manager on production plans and staffing.
• Ensure safety standards, welding procedures, and quality requirements are followed.
• Train and develop weld personnel to improve skills and productivity.
• Inspect in-progress work for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance management with HR.
• Maintain production, attendance, and quality records.
