Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI is hiring a Weld Supervisor to lead multiple welding teams and Weld Leads on the shop floor. You will drive production, quality, and safety objectives while partnering with the Welding Manager.

The role requires 6+ years in welding, 2+ years in leadership, and strong knowledge of MIG welding, drawings, and welding procedures. Onsite, temp-to-hire with path to permanent.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
• 6+ years welding and fabrication experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years leadership supervising welders or shop personnel.
• Strong knowledge of MIG welding processes and weld symbols.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience leading multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience implementing workplace safety programs.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in shop calculations and measurements.
• Heavy-gauge steel fabrication experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Weld Leads and welding teams.
• Coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules and quality.
• Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and throughput.
• Collaborate with Welding Manager on production plans and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and welding procedures.
• Train and develop Weld Leads and welders.
• Inspect in-process work for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor performance and address bottlenecks.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management with HR.
• Maintain accurate production, attendance, and quality docs.
• Communicate updates to Weld Leads and welding personnel.
• Promote a positive, accountable team culture.
