Job summary

Global Power Components seeks an experienced Weld Supervisor to lead multiple welding teams on site in Milwaukee, overseeing Weld Leads and shop-floor personnel. The role reports to the Welding Manager and emphasizes production, safety, and quality objectives.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily production, improving efficiency, ensuring compliance with drawings and welding specs, and coaching weld staff.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of leadership experience supervising welders, Weld Leads, or shop floor personnel.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and support Weld Leads and their welding/fabrication teams.
• Coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and priorities to maximize efficiency and throughput.
• Collaborate with the Welding Manager on production plans, staffing, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure welders and Weld Leads comply with safety standards, welding procedures, and quality requirements.
• Train, coach, and develop Weld Leads and welding personnel to improve skills and engagement.
• Inspect work to verify conformance with drawings, welding specs, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor departmental performance and address bottlenecks and quality concerns.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and disciplinary actions with management and HR.
• Maintain accurate production, attendance, and quality documentation.
• Communicate updates and changes to Weld Leads and welding personnel.
• Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture in the welding department.
