Selectek, Inc. in Hampton, GA is seeking a Weld Quality Engineer to support welded fabrication in the utility sector.

You will perform weld inspections, ensure AWS code compliance, and maintain quality documentation to ensure products meet required standards. You will collaborate with engineering, fabrication, customers, and inspectors, reviewing weld symbols and fabrication drawings, verifying weld size, preheat, filler metals, and QA records.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Welding Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years welding inspection experience in fabrication.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.2.

Responsabilidades

• Perform visual weld inspections before, during, and after welding.
• Inspect welds per AWS D1.1 and D1.2 standards.
• Review weld symbols, drawings, and fabrication details for compliance.
• Verify weld size, preheat, and filler metal requirements.
• Maintain WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation.
• Witness welder qualification testing and document results.
• Coordinate with NDT (UT/RT/MT/PT) activities.
• Prepare inspection reports and NCRs.
• Coordinate with inspectors, customers, and internal teams.
• Support quality audits and continuous improvement.
• Maintain material and welding consumable traceability.
