Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Cusseta, AL is seeking a Weld Production Operator for a 1st shift (6:00 AM–4:30 PM, Mon–Thu). You will set up and operate resistance spot welders and power press to weld, trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite, or plastic stock, aligning parts on fixtures and monitoring for proper operation.

You must be 18 years or older, able to stand 8–10 hours a day, and have good reading/writing/speaking English skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates resistance spot welders and/or power press to weld, trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite, or plastic stock by performing the following duties.
• Inspects parts for conformance to specifications and discusses non-conformances with a team lead or quality inspector.
• Maintains housekeeping of the work area, completes tags to track product flow, and submits required paperwork.
