Job summary

Illinois Department of Agriculture is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Products & Standards Inspector trainee in Illinois. You will join a team of inspectors performing state-wide inspections, investigations of consumer complaints, and education on rights under the Weights and Measures Acts.

The position includes on-the-job training, travel, and eventual certification in metrology standards. The role requires at least two years of college coursework and preferred experience with

Qualifications

• Requires completion of two years of college, preferably with coursework in business, management, or communications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in an approved training program for inspection techniques and measurement devices.
• Serve as an apprentice in the field under supervision of senior inspectors.
• Travel for on-the-job training and to service designated worksites.
• Maintain records and documentation of daily activities and inspections.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, testing, and office equipment.
