Job summary

Qualifications

• Two of the three County Weights and Measures licenses plus a California Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates complaints concerning illegal weights and measures practices.
• Conducts field tests of various weighing and measuring devices.
• Inspects pre-packaged meats and other packaged commodities.
• Enforces state and county laws by issuing warning notices and citations.
• Takes samples of gasoline and other petroleum products.
• Answers questions from the general public related to weights and measures.
• Writes daily inspection reports and investigative reports, as required by law.
