Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Weight Management Pharmacist II to provide specialized clinical and consultative support for obesity therapies in outpatient settings. You will collaborate with provider teams to initiate, optimize, and manage weight loss medications, and promote adherence and safety through patient outreach.

You will also precept students and residents, educate clinical teams, and support quality improvement initiatives as directed by leadership.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensed in California and eligible to practice in outpatient settings.
• Strong clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge in weight management therapies.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Support initiation, optimization, and ongoing management of weight loss medications.
• Conduct patient outreach to promote adherence and medication safety.
• Resolve medication access barriers and serve as a subject matter expert.
• Precept pharmacy students and residents and provide education to clinical teams.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives as directed.
