Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license.
• Experience in construction field inspection, trucking, or materials testing preferred but not required.
• Ability to travel to IDOT District 4 sites and work on project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with truck weight verification checks for hot mix asphalt and aggregate deliveries on IDOT District 4 construction projects
• Travel to active construction sites as requested by IDOT Resident Engineers
• Coordinate with project personnel and independent scale operators during weight check activities
• Select loaded trucks for verification and document loaded and empty truck weights
• Complete required weight check reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Work independently in an active construction environment while maintaining safe and professional interactions around active construction traffic and equipment
• Communicate regularly with supervisors based out of Baxter & Woodman’s Peoria Heights office
