Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency is required.
• FCIC/NCIC certification within 9 months of employment and maintenance of certification.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet special requirements.

Responsibilities

• Enforce weight laws for commercial vehicles and cargo using automated scales and measurement devices.
• Check fuel tax compliance, issue permits and civil citations for violations.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on violations and inspections.
• Inspect license plates and registration against declared weight; off-load when over weight limits.
• Assist carriers by providing information and interpreting weight laws; use NCIC/FCIC and related systems.
