Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the principles of transportation.
• Understanding of weight enforcement principles.
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with departmental staff, agencies, contractors, and the general public.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to compile and present data in report formats.

Responsibilities

• Enforce truck weight laws and minimize downtime of scales to protect infrastructure and public safety.
• Ensure compliance with federal code and prepare annual reports and certifications.
• Plan and develop annual and long-term weigh station programs for highway mobility.
• Develop scale plans and specifications for bidding and construction.
• Perform field inspections of portable scales and weigh stations.
