Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a Part Time Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in a community hospital setting. The role involves verifying patient information, preparing patients, and acquiring accurate images while maintaining EMR/PACS documentation.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, Doppler techniques, and anatomy, with excellent communication and teamwork to support radiologists and other clinicians.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures to Radiologist standards.
• Ability to use computer systems for data entry and retrieval, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong patient care and communication skills across age groups.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Familiarity with Radiology software and PACS applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness and collects clinical history.
• Positions patients and equipment to acquire optimal images and data.
• Maintains accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Explains procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Operates imaging equipment safely, including transducers and monitors.
• Adheres to infection control standards and uses PPE.
• Collaborates with radiologists to ensure quality imaging and patient care.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
• Notifies staff when inventory is low.
• Completes ultrasound worksheets with findings for radiologist review.
• Sterilizes transducers and maintains hygiene.
