Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Paint Prep Technician in Sharon, PA. The weekend role prepares transformer units for paint by cleaning, filling, taping, and sanding, with duties including checks, material handling, and safety compliance. Friday–Sunday 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Apply core safety standards and teamwork to meet production goals. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and preferred OSHA-10 plus paint manufacturing or material handling experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• 1 year experience in paint manufacturing preferred.
• 1 year experience with material handling equipment (forklift, crane) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Strong safety and environmental compliance awareness.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Review checklist and follow work orders to ensure specifications.
• Transport transformer units to the paint area using material handling equipment.
• Identify units with defects and escalate as needed.
• Prepare transformer units for paint (remove stickers, apply filler, tape, sand, clean).
• Perform quality checks and ensure no leaks before painting.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and area.
