Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Transfer Center RN to coordinate safe and efficient patient transfers across Mississippi and Northeast Louisiana. You will use the EMR to document, communicate, and report transfer requests to providers and hospital staff while adhering to EMTALA guidelines.

Qualifications

3 years in general or specialty nursing practice.
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
Current Registered Nurse license in Mississippi.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and Manages Patient Transfer Requests: Expedites and coordinates all internal and external transfers to and from FMOLHS facilities; coordinates with transferring/receiving physicians and departments.
Maintain Transfer Center Documentation and Compliance: accurately document transfers in the department database and transcribe interactions on calls.
Customer Service: escalate issues per protocols, provide superior service, and build collaborative relationships.
Patient Assessment and Triage: assess and triage level of care, and ensure timely transfers following trauma/stroke protocols.
