Job summary

Powell Houston-Canton seeks a Mechanical Assembler focused on switchgear to read drawings, assemble units, and verify parts meet specs before shipping. You will use hand and power tools and follow standard work to ensure quality in a safety-driven environment.

Weekend shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00am–6:30pm, with weekly pay and full benefits starting day one. Experience with switchgear is a plus; high school diploma required; MES familiarity is helpful; join a team that values craftsmanship and

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient with a tape measure and unit conversions.
• Familiar with MES software and manufacturing processes.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to PPE.
• Basic English communication, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to assemble switchgear units.
• Assemble mechanical components per blueprints and written instructions.
• Diagnose and correct mechanical discrepancies on assemblies.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area and participate in safety meetings.
• Support additional tasks as production needs arise.
