Job summary

Faircloth Machine Shop in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Weekend Shift Swiss CNC Machinist to set up and operate high-precision, short-run aerospace components. You will perform full setups, verify first articles, and support in-process inspection, ensuring tight tolerances and quality across multiple machines.

Ideal candidates have experience with Swiss CNCs, strong GD&T skills, and a hands-on approach in a Pro Shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up Swiss CNC machines.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience performing first-article and in-process inspections.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a high-mix, short-run environment.
• Willingness to work a Weekend Shift (Fri–Sun, 3x12s).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines for high-precision, short-run work.
• Perform complete setups including tooling, offsets, and workholding.
• Prove out first articles and support in-process inspection.
• Machine small, tight-tolerance aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust processes as needed.
• Perform in-process and final quality checks.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality teams.
• Work within a Pro Shop (PRP) environment focused on accountability and craftsmanship.
