Job summary

Faircloth Machine Shop in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Weekend Shift Swiss CNC Machinist to set up and operate high-precision, short-run aerospace components. You will perform full setups, verify first articles, and support in-process inspection, ensuring tight tolerances and quality across multiple machines.

Ideal candidates have experience with Swiss CNCs, strong GD&T skills, and a hands-on approach in a Pro Shop environment.

Responsibilities

Faircloth Machine Shop is expanding on new long-term customer contracts and continued investment in advanced machining capabilities. This Weekend Shift CNC Swiss Machinist role gives machinists a full weekend schedule instead of a standard five-day week — three 12-hour days on, four days off — while working the same high-precision, small-component aerospace work as the rest of the shop.

This is a hands-on role built for machinists who want to work on challenging, short-run parts — not repetitive production — with a schedule most shops don't offer.

The Work You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines for high-precision, short-run work

Machines, Controls & Software

You'll work with equipment such as:

• Swiss CNC Machines: Tsugami S205
• Tsugami S326
• Controls: Fanuc-based controls (typical for Swiss platforms)
• Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges
• Programming: CNC programming and CAM exposure highly valued

Required

• Experience setting up Swiss CNC machines
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
• Experience performing first-article and in-process inspections

Preferred (Not Required)

• CNC programming or CAD/CAM experience
• Aerospace machining background
• Pro Shop (PRP) experience
• Multi-axis or advanced Swiss experience
