Job summary

DRT Aerospace is seeking an experienced Swiss CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss-style CNC machines used to produce complex aerospace components with tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years Swiss machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience operating Swiss-style CNC equipment such as Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Nomura.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials.
• Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, aluminum and aerospace alloys.
• Proficient with precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, comparators).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with high quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines to manufacture aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specs, travelers, and work instructions.
• Install tooling, perform machine setups, and adjust to meet production needs.
• Edit offsets and make machine-side program adjustments for part conformity.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections with precision equipment.
• Verify product quality against aerospace requirements.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues to reduce downtime.
• Monitor machine performance and look for process improvements.
• Record inspection and production data per quality system.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and daily care.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Programming and Production teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
