Faircloth Machine Shop, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Weekend CNC Lathe Machinist to take full setup ownership on high‑mix, tight‑tolerance aerospace and medical components.

Qualifications

• CNC lathe setup experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Experience performing first-article and in-process inspections.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to work in a high-mix, short-run environment.
• Willingness to work a Weekend Shift (Fri–Sun).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for short-run, high-precision work.
• Perform complete setups and teardowns, including tooling, offsets, and workholding.
• Prove out first articles and support in-process inspection.
• Run small, tight-tolerance aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot machining and process issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality to optimize results.
• Work in a Pro Shop (PRP) environment focused on accountability and craftsmanship.

Machines: CNC Lathes / Mill-Turn — Miyano BNX/BND/BNA (twin spindle, live tooling), Haas CNC Lathes, Okuma CNC Lathes
Controls: Fanuc, Haas, Okuma

This Weekend Shift CNC Lathe Machinist role gives machinists a full weekend schedule instead of a standard five-day week — three 12-hour days on, four days off — while working the same high-mix, tight-tolerance aerospace and medical work as the rest of the shop.

This isn't a button-pushing position — it's a skilled machining role for professionals who want real setup ownership on a schedule most shops don't offer.

The Work You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for short-run, high-precision work
• Perform complete setups and teardowns, including tooling, offsets, and workholding

Machines, Controls & Software

You'll work with equipment such as:

• CNC Lathes / Mill-Turn: Miyano BNX / BND / BNA (Twin Spindle, Live Tooling)
• Haas CNC Lathes
• Okuma CNC Lathes
• Controls: Fanuc, Haas, Okuma
• Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges
• Programming: CNC programming experience is strongly preferred

Materials You'll Work With

Pay, Benefits & Schedule

• Pay Range: $25–$30/hr (DOE)
• Schedule: Weekend Shift, Fri–Sun, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (3x12s)
• Shift Differential: +20% for Weekend Shift
