The role involves inspecting and testing incoming chemicals and products. Responsibilities include testing chemicals for strength, accuracy, cracks, and other quality measures; adjusting chemical tanks based on environmental conditions; mixing custom chemicals as needed; and performing additional duties to ensure all chemicals, parts, and finished products meet quality standards.
Additional duties include inspecting incoming chemicals before storage, reading meters and gauges, recording inventory levels, testing parts and materials for compliance with specifications, and measuring chemical content percentages. The role requires driving forklifts to move drums and materials, sampling materials for testing, and using various instruments and computers for testing and quality checks. Inspections also cover physical characteristics of parts, including cracks, finish, fiberglass incorporation, and dimensions, using measuring tools or templates. The inspector will confer with line leaders, physically handle parts (lifting up to 35 pounds or using assistance or a hoist), and conduct structural testing of products. Math skills are used to adjust chemicals, test products, and assist with formulas and bills of materials.
