Job description

Job Overview

Inspects and tests incoming batches of chemicals and products. Conducts tests on chemicals used, such as catalysts, to correlate with temperature and humidity conditions in the plant. Checks the strength, accuracy of dimensions, cracks, and other physical characteristics of finished products to ensure quality. Adjusts chemical tanks based on environmental conditions and mixes custom chemicals as needed. Performs additional duties to ensure all chemicals, parts, and finished products meet quality standards.

A Day In The Life

Tests and inspects all chemicals before transfer into storage tanks. Reads meters, gauges, and instruments; reports inventory levels to manage tank capacities. Tests parts and materials for compliance with size, finish, and physical requirements. Measures chemical content percentages and inspects parts for cracks, finish, fiberglass incorporation, contour, and other physical features. Uses measuring tools or templates for dimensional accuracy. Operates forklifts to move drums or materials. Samples drums and tanks for testing. Uses computers and testing instruments to verify material and chemical quality. Conducts structural testing of products. Collaborates with line leaders and team members. Lifts parts weighing up to 35 pounds or uses assistance or hoists as needed. Applies math skills to adjust chemicals, test products, and assist with formulas and bills of materials.
