Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Officer in Chicago to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property.

The role requires licensed security credentials (PERC card, 20-hour training) and reliable transportation. Duties include patrolling, entrance control, incident reporting, and adherence to emergency procedures in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses (PERC Card and 20 Hour Security Training Certificate) required.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat, professional appearance.
• Ability to write routine correspondence, log entries and incident reports.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military or customer service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility.
• Monitor the environment to detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Follow established emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
