Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a vigilant Security Officer to provide professional customer-focused security and life safety services in a downtown Chicago office setting. You will greet and assist visitors, patrol facilities, monitor alarms, and enforce building policies while coordinating with management to ensure safety and property protection.

The role requires flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends, with a $20.00 hourly rate and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Must have open scheduling availability to work mornings (1st shifts), evenings (2nd shifts), and overnights (3rd shifts) including weekends.
• Must be available to work a rotating full-time flex schedule.
• 20-Hour Security Training Certificate.
• Active PERC Card.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor, aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility/building assigned.
• Monitor the environment, with the ability to detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests in a professional manner at all times.
• Answer all phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Know the facility/building policies and procedures; enforce them within the limits of the position.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate customer requirements.
• Follow established emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, as directed.
