RTX in Midland, GA is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to maintain engines of aircraft to meet FAA standards. This role involves routine checks and repairs, record-keeping, and identifying faults in aircraft components.

You'll learn engine disassembly/assembly, cleaning, basic inspection techniques, and EH&S compliance, while working onsite and supporting continuous improvement programs. Requires willingness to train on first shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be willing to train on first shift (5 AM–3:30 PM, Mon–Thu) for up to 5 months.
• A&P License or two years aviation, aerospace and/or mechanical experience.

What You Will Do

Anaircraftmechanicmaintains the engines of aircrafts to meet FAA standards. This job involvestaskssuch as performing routine checks and repairs, keeping records of inventory, and identifying faults with components of the plane.

What You Will Learn

• Engine disassembly/assembly - Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine modules and accessories.
• Clean - Perform cleaning of engine parts and components.
• Perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable.Understand the basic inspection techniques as a part of a career development path.
• Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
• Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise.

• MUST BE WILLING TO TRAIN ON FIRST SHIFT (5 AM TO 3:30 PM M-TH) FOR UP TO 5 MONTHS

• Turbine engine overhaul, and repair experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Assembly.
• Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.
• Must have completed CORE Basics and have created an CORE profile (internal candidates).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• FAA Safety Sensitive Position
• Must be willing to work all shifts
• SAP familiarity (Preferred)
