Job summary

RTX is seeking an aircraft mechanic to maintain engines of aircraft to FAA standards, performing routine checks and repairs, keeping inventory records, and identifying faults with components.

Opportunities include engine disassembly/assembly training, tool management, and a path through CORE Basics. Applicants should be aligned with EH&S and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to train on first shift (5 AM to 3:30 PM, Mon–Thu) for up to 5 months.
• A&P license or two years aviation, aerospace, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Turbine engine overhaul and repair experience in disassembly or assembly preferred.
• Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.
• Completed CORE Basics and created CORE profile (internal candidates).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to work all shifts.
• SAP familiarity preferred.

What You Will Do

An aircraft mechanic maintains the engines of aircraft to meet FAA standards. Duties include performing routine checks and repairs, keeping inventory records, and identifying faults with components.

What You Will Learn

• Engine disassembly and assembly – disassemble and assemble engines, engine modules, and accessories.
• Cleaning – clean engine parts and components.
• Visual checks – assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable.
• Basic inspection techniques – part of a career development path.
• Commitment to EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing required training, and supporting committee activities.
• Tool and tooling management – ensure serviceability before and after use and process issues appropriately.
