Job summary

RTX is seeking a Bench Assembly Cell Operator for the Wells, Maine area. This on-site role involves building and disassembling gas turbine engine modules, following strict work instructions, and maintaining build records.

The position supports continuous improvement and operates on a 2nd shift schedule (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm–1:30am). Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience, or a related degree/certificate, and must read, write, and understand English.

  • Build and/or disassemble new technology production gas turbine engine modules, subassemblies and accessories.
  • Follow work instructions including assembly floor specs, computer-generated work instructions, assembly drawings and work orders to assure compliance with requirements.
  • Complete all necessary build records and other required documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as directed by supervision.
  • 2nd shift bench assembly cell operator: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 1:30am.

What You Will Do

Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Build and / or disassemble a variety of new technology production gas turbine engine modules, subassemblies and accessories.

  • Follow specified work instructions including assembly floor specifications, computer generated work instructions, assembly drawings and work orders to assure compliance with requirements.

  • Properly complete all necessary build records and other required documentation.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives as well as any other duties deemed necessary by supervision.

  • This is an amazing opportunity as a Bench Assembly Cell Operator on 2nd shift. Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 1:30am.


The salary range for this role is $18.30-$34.40 . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Qualifications You Must Have


  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma

  • 1 + years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience


Qualifications We Prefer


  • Ability to read and understand commercial and military procedures and other approved technical data required to assemble jet engine parts.

  • Flexibility in job assignments and able to perform a variety of assembly functions on commercial and military products.

  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications as required.

  • May require some travel, assist other business units and work special shifts as needed.

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.

  • AP license preferred

  • Demonstrated versatility, flexibility and initiative, with high level of organization skills to cover multiple areas as business needs dictate.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong computer skills

  • Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
