Job summary

Thorne is seeking a Safety Lead for the weekend shift in Summerville, SC. You will lead safety programs across production, laboratory, warehouse, and maintenance, observing practices and driving compliance.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressive occupational safety or HSE experience in manufacturing, pharma, nutraceutical, or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA general industry requirements and common safety programs.
• Experience developing safety procedures, training, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Ability to lead without direct supervisory authority and influence across teams.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent presence across production, lab, warehouse, and maintenance to observe practices and identify safety concerns.
• Conduct routine inspections, hazard analyses, risk assessments, and implement controls.
• Lead or support investigations of injuries and near misses; track corrective actions to closure.
• Coordinate safety programs including PPE, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and fall protection.
• Develop and deliver safety orientation, regulatory training, toolbox talks, and refreshers.
• Coach employees and leaders on safe work practices and regulatory expectations.
• Support OSHA compliance, training documentation, and inspections.
• Coordinate contractor safety requirements and on-site safety oversight.
• Review data to identify trends and recommend prevention actions.
• Maintain audit-ready safety records and program documentation.
