Job summary

Mattr in Blythewood, SC is seeking an HSE Specialist to elevate safety at the Blythewood manufacturing site by partnering with site leadership to embed corporate HSE standards into daily operations. You will drive a proactive culture, conduct JSAs and audits, and deliver training while reducing risk across the plant.

The role requires hands-on shop floor engagement and collaboration across functions to meet safety objectives and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Fire Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years in Health, Safety, and Environment roles.
• Experience in manufacturing environments required.
• HSE certification or equivalent credentials.
• Strong knowledge of HSE systems and training delivery.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership to implement a proactive safety culture.
• Lead and implement advanced HSE programs beyond compliance.
• Lead site assessments tied to QHSE audits.
• Drive JSA, hazard identification, and safety program execution.
• Support Stop Work Authority and other safety initiatives.
• Deliver HSE training across all levels.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align with safety objectives.
• Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor (~50%).
