Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a retail staff pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care in the outpatient setting and ensure accurate dispensing of prescriptions. You will counsel patients, collaborate with healthcare providers, oversee pharmacy technicians, and coordinate workflow to promote safe medication use.

The position is part-time with weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM) at Banner Desert Medical Center, Mesa, AZ.

Qualifications

Requires pharmacy licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Immunization certification and/or licensure (if state requires) within 6 months of hire.
Must possess current BLS card.
Must have good organizational, problem solving and computer skills; strong written and verbal communication.
Knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

Fills prescriptions accurately and timely; reviews orders for safety and drug interactions; may immunize on request.
Supervises and directs pharmacy technicians; coordinates workflow and ensures accuracy before dispensing.
Provides counseling to patients, families, and caregivers about medications and therapy.
Oversees day-to-day pharmacy operations including inventory and interactions with insurance.
Consults with prescribers to ensure appropriate medication use and resolves issues with orders.
Oversees all aspects of medication use, including procurement, storage, dispensing, and monitoring.
