Job summary

Sanford Health seeks a Respiratory Therapist to assess, manage and educate patients with respiratory conditions. The role involves delivering therapies, monitoring progress, and contributing to sleep-disordered breathing data and patient education.

Requires NBRC RRT credential, state licensure, and BLS certification. This is a weekend, 36-hour weekly schedule with 12-hour shifts, rotation weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Respiratory Care from NBRC-accredited program.
• Current Respiratory Therapy licensure in applicable states.
• RRT credential through NBRC and active status.
• BLS certification required.
• Site-specific credentials such as NRP/ACLS/PALS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor and manage respiratory disease.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to impact cardiopulmonary health.
• Educate patients to promote preventative care and self-management.
• Provide data management related to sleep-disordered breathing.
• Perform regular patient and equipment assessments and adjust therapy.
• Collect and analyze blood gases and other specimens to assess oxygen and CO2 levels.
• Measure lung capacity and interpret results for treatment decisions.
• Share diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on analysis.
