Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide expert care across inpatient and outpatient settings, from neonates to adults. You will deliver safe therapies, maintain equipment, document accurately, and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Required are an accredited Respiratory Therapy degree, NBRC-credentialed status, and state licensure, with BLS/ACLS/NRP within 90 days. Weekend rotations and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' respiratory conditions by examining history and performing assessments.
• Administer respiratory therapies including gas delivery, nebulization, chest physiotherapy, airway management, and ventilation as appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic testing such as ABG collection/analysis, pulmonary function testing, and pulse oximetry.
• Monitor responses to treatments and adjust care as needed; escalate concerns.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment; ensure patient safety.
• Document thoroughly in the patient EMR and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor students and new staff; participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
