Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join its skilled nursing team in Florida. The RT will assess, initiate therapies, and document care for geriatric residents, independently managing a range of bedside treatments with supervision as needed.

Weekend shifts are required, with a focus on improving residents' respiratory outcomes in a long-term care setting. Qualified candidates hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy and state licensure (RRT/CRT)

Qualifications

• Graduation from COARC-accredited respiratory program (AS/BS).
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory therapies for rehab patients with varied respiratory and non-respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform a range of bedside treatments including oxygen, aerosol therapy, PEP, spirometry, suctioning, and chest physiotherapy.
• Complete in-services, daily/weekly/monthly documentation, and attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings; follow facility procedures and track caseloads.
