Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center in Florida is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility team. The RT will assess and treat residents, perform a broad range of respiratory therapies, and document care as part of coordinated rehab services.

The ideal candidate is licensed (RRT or CRT) in Florida, holds BLS certification, and can operate independently while supporting nursing staff and care plans for geriatric patients in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program graduate.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to progress rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Performs bedside treatments including oxygen therapy, airway management and chest physiotherapy.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff and maintain daily/weekly/monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and support care of residents in long-term care.
• Follow facility procedures and participate in caseload tracking and management.
