Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center in Florida is seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric rehab team. The role requires independent evaluation and treatment with a focus on comfort and quality of life for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, maintaining records, performing bedside treatments (oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, chest physiotherapy, airway suctioning), and participating in quarterly staff

Qualifications

Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; Licensed as RRT or CRT.
Current BLS certification and state license.

Responsibilities

Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques for residents with various respiratory and non-respiratory illnesses.
Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
Perform bedside treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, chest physiotherapy, and airway management.
Complete in-services for nursing staff and attend IDT meetings; maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting; perform related duties as required.
