Palmetto Subacute Care Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. You will evaluate and treat independently, focusing on geriatric residents and improving their respiratory experience. The role requires state licensure and a commitment to patient-centered care.

The position involves weekend scheduling, performing a range of bedside therapies, and contributing to continuous staff education and documentation in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Deliver bedside treatments including oxygen, aerosol, PEP, chest physiotherapy and suctioning.
• Attend in-services for nursing staff quarterly and document daily/weekly/monthly activities.
• Participate in IDT meetings and track caseload; administer tracheotomy care as needed.
• Maintain airway management, CPR readiness and pulmonary function testing.
