Job summary

Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Tennessee is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents independently, perform bedside therapies, and document care while adhering to facility protocols.

Candidates must graduate from COARC-accredited program, hold RRT or CRT license, and maintain BLS certification. The schedule includes 4-6 hour shifts, with possible 8 hours, on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), contributing

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing. BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Described in the Departmental Policy and procedure Manual in areas of skilled interventions: Oxygen weaning therapy, Omniflow – Biofeedback, Group respiratory therapy, Standardized respiratory testing, Aerosol therapy, IPPB therapy, Incentive Spirometry, Chest physiotherapy, Deep breathing and coughing, Bronchial hygiene therapy, PEP therapy, Postal Drainage, Positioning, Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning, Airway clearance/management techniques, Trachea-bronchial suctioning, Tracheostomy care, Spirometry Bedside Testing, CPAP/BIPAP, High-Flow Oxygen, Cardiac Program, Pulmonary Program, Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
