Job summary

Bethany Center For Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to support residents in a Skilled Nursing facility. You’ll assess, initiate therapies, and maintain records for geriatric patients with diverse conditions, operating independently with limited supervision.

The role requires a state license (RRT/CRT), COARC-accredited education, and hands-on expertise in bedside respiratory care, including trach care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
• Described in the Departmental Policy and procedure Manual in these areas of skilled interventions: Oxygen weaning therapy, Omniflow – Biofeed back, Group respiratory therapy, Standardized respiratory testing, Aerosol therapy, IPPB therapy, Incentive Spirometry, Chest physiotherapy, Deep breathing and coughing, Bronchial hygiene therapy, PEP therapy, Postal Drainage, Positioning, Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning, Airway clearance/management techniques, Trachea-bronchial suctioning, Tracheostomy care, Spirometry Bedside Testing, CPAP/BIPAP, High-Flow Oxygen, Cardiac Program, Pulmonary Program, Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
