Job summary

Bay Community Support Services, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting in Odenton, Maryland.

The weekend position includes overnight Saturday and day Sunday shifts, offering flexibility and supplemental income for candidates. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure health and safety while maintaining a positive home

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and other required screenings.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record preferred.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in accordance with their person-centered plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation as needed.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Administer medications as trained and authorized.
• Complete required documentation, daily notes, and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Monitor and maintain the health, safety, and well-being of residents.
• Perform light housekeeping duties and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Provide overnight supervision during scheduled shifts and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, families, and other service providers.
• Transport individuals to community activities or appointments when required.
